UPDATES! CLASS! DAVID F. WALKER!

Hi everyone. It's Brian.

I wanted to newsletter you directly and apologize. We're gonna have to postpone this week's class just a couple of days this week.

I was called out of town on very interesting business that I will be able to share with you eventually, but with NDAs being what they are, you’ll just have to trust me that it's cool and it's worth missing a class over.

The good news is class is still happening this week! Session #6 is locked in and will now take place on Thursday (2/2) at our usual time of 6:00pm PST. Plus, a special guest!

Our very first guest will be Eisner award-winning dear friend DAVID F. WALKER. David is the award-winning creator of Bitter Root, The Hated, The Black Panther Party, and Naomi. He has written for EVERY company. David and I have been teaching together at Portland State University for years. Part of the reason that we teach together is that we have such different perspectives on so many subjects that it brings a more lively discussion and offers our students a great deal of choices and things to think about. Taki and I are very excited to bring David to this online class and share some of that with you. We will also have a Q&A session, so you can ask David directly about his work.

If you need a Walker primer, here is one of my favorite things he has done:

So, we will see you Thursday! Again, sorry for the bump.

We will also be bumping the February 14th class for that following Thursday (2/16) because it's Valentine's Day. I’ve been married a long time and let this class teach you not to EVER put comics before Valentine's Day :-)

But if you miss the sound of my voice, I've done a couple of very fun and lively interviews recently:

The Launchpad Podcast

And this interview with Nerds & Beyond:

Interview: Brian Michael Bendis Talks Comics, Advice for Creatives, Daredevil’s Radar Sense vs. Spidey Sense, & More! [EXCLUSIVE]

We will see you this Thursday!

You will get another update before Thursday. Just confirming that this is all happening. My favorite part of the classes has been the Q&A. Keep them coming.

Another tip is to feel free to ask David (and any of our upcoming guests) the questions that you've already asked Taki and myself. Just because we have an answer doesn't mean that's the only answer. We like to offer as many perspectives as possible.

Thank you, thank you, friends!

Ever grateful,

BRIAN MICHAEL BENDIS, TAKI SOMA, and The JINXWORLD Team
